The horse that kept me walking — and the purpose that followed
I was 18 years old when a doctor told me my life was about to get smaller.
Multiple sclerosis. Two words that, in that exam room, felt like a door swinging shut. I was told to limit myself — to be careful, to manage expectations, to prepare for a life defined by what I couldn’t do.
Nobody told the horses.
When horses refused to let me quit
From the beginning, horses didn’t see my diagnosis. They didn’t know about the numbness, the fatigue, or the days when getting out of bed felt like climbing a mountain. They just needed me to show up — and when I did, something remarkable happened.
I kept walking.
Being around horses gave me purpose when MS tried to take it. They grounded me when I felt untethered. They demanded my presence, my focus, my best effort. And in return, they gave me back myself.
Doc: the horse who pointed the way
If you’ve spent time around horses, you know that sometimes they find you just as much as you find them. Doc was that horse for me. He reminded me why any of this mattered — not in a dramatic, movie-moment way, but in the quiet, daily way that horses do.
Watching Doc, and thinking about everything horses had given me, I kept coming back to one question: what if I could give that back to other horses? What if the same care, the same attention, the same commitment to helping them feel their best could be my work?
That question became Top Shott Equine Therapy.
What Top Shott is — and what it’s becoming
Today, Top Shott offers mobile PEMF and 3B Laser sessions for horses across Riverside County and surrounding areas. These are non-invasive wellness sessions designed to support a horse’s comfort and relaxation as part of the care they already receive from their veterinarian, farrier, and trainer. Watching horses settle into a session is honestly one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever experienced.
But Top Shott is also the foundation for something bigger: Rainbow Rise Ranch — a future place where rescued horses get second chances, where horses and humans heal side by side, and where the philosophy that carried me through my own hard chapters becomes a living, breathing reality.

Why this work matters to me
I built Top Shott because horses gave me my life back, and I want to spend that life giving something back to them.
Every horse I work with carries a story. Some are performance horses whose owners want to keep them feeling their best. Some are older horses being cared for with deep love. Some are rescues who have known hard roads. Every one of them deserves to feel good, rest deeply, and be seen.
