Mobile Equine PEMF Sessions
Gentle, non-invasive pulsed electromagnetic field sessions at your barn — designed to support your horse’s comfort, relaxation, and overall wellness alongside the care your veterinarian provides.
What is equine PEMF?
PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field. During an equine PEMF session, a device produces gentle, pulsing magnetic fields through an applicator placed on or near your horse’s body. It’s a non-invasive wellness session — no needles, no medication, and no sedation — intended to support comfort and relaxation.
PEMF has been used in human and animal wellness settings for years, and it’s increasingly common in performance and pleasure horse barns. Research specific to horses is still developing, and responses vary from horse to horse. That’s why Top Shott describes PEMF honestly: as a supportive part of a well-rounded care routine, not a treatment or cure.
Why owners schedule PEMF sessions
Horse owners and trainers typically add PEMF to their routine to:
- Support comfort and relaxation for horses in regular work
- Support normal recovery processes after training, hauling, or competition
- Give senior horses a calm, quiet wellness session
- Complement a care plan already in place with their veterinarian, farrier, and trainer
- Be proactive about wellness rather than waiting for a problem
How a mobile PEMF session works
History check
Before a horse’s first session, Kadee asks about age, workload, discipline, current health, recent veterinary care, and anything you’ve noticed. If something suggests your veterinarian should weigh in first, she’ll say so.
Set-up at your barn
Kadee brings the portable equipment to you. A quiet stall, aisle, or wash rack with safe footing works well. Your horse stays in familiar surroundings.
The session
The applicator is moved along areas such as the neck, shoulders, back, hindquarters, and legs, with intensity adjusted to your horse’s comfort. Many horses settle in quickly — some lower their heads, lick and chew, or get drowsy. Others shift or move a little at first; Kadee watches closely and adjusts.
Afterward
Kadee shares what she observed and answers questions. Together you can decide whether — and how often — more sessions make sense for your horse’s routine.
Plan on roughly 45 to 60 minutes per horse.
What to expect
Every horse responds differently. Many owners notice their horse looking relaxed during a session. Because PEMF is a wellness service, Top Shott does not promise specific physical or performance outcomes, and you should keep following your veterinarian’s guidance for any medical concern.
Veterinary considerations
Talk with your veterinarian before scheduling if your horse has a recent or unexplained injury or lameness, an active illness, a recent surgery or procedure, is pregnant, or has any condition you’re unsure about. Please tell Kadee about these when you request a session. She will postpone or decline a session whenever it isn’t appropriate, and she’s glad to work with your veterinarian’s recommendations.

Equine PEMF questions
What is equine PEMF therapy?
PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field. An equine PEMF session uses a device that produces gentle, pulsing magnetic fields through an applicator placed on or near the horse's body. It is a non-invasive wellness session intended to support comfort and relaxation as part of your horse's existing care routine.
PEMF is not a veterinary treatment and does not replace a diagnosis or care from your veterinarian. Research on PEMF in horses is still developing, and every horse responds differently.
Does equine PEMF replace veterinary treatment?
No. PEMF and 3B Laser sessions are supportive wellness services that complement — never replace — care from your licensed veterinarian. Top Shott does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or injury.
If your horse has a known or suspected medical issue, talk with your veterinarian first. Kadee is happy to coordinate with your vet's guidance.
How long does an equine wellness session usually take?
Plan on roughly 45 to 60 minutes per horse. The exact time depends on the service and on your horse — some settle quickly, others need a little more time.
What should I do to prepare my horse for a session?
Have your horse caught, reasonably clean and dry, and in a quiet, safe area with level footing — a stall, aisle, or wash rack works well. Let Kadee know about any health history, medications, or recent veterinary care before the visit.
If you can't be there, please arrange for a handler who knows your horse.
What conditions might make a session inappropriate?
Some horses should not have a session, or should be cleared by a veterinarian first. Kadee reviews each horse's history before every first session and will postpone or decline a session when it isn't appropriate.
Please share any current injuries, illnesses, pregnancy, recent procedures, medications, or implanted devices when you request an appointment. When in doubt, ask your veterinarian before scheduling.
